BAFöG certificate according to § 48 for Bachelor's and Master's degree programs

Industrial Engineering, Digital Economics and Technical Economics - valid from 1/2025

At regular intervals (usually after the 4th and 6th semester), BAFöG recipients will have their academic performance reviewed. A positive decision is based on performance requirements according to the following central requirement:

1. previous performance suggests that the educational goal will be achieved. 
2. the progress required for this can be recognized.
3. by the end of the respective semester, the usual performance is demonstrated.

As a rule and with proof of the respective minimum performance, the responsible BAFöG office of the Studierendenwerk KA is satisfied with the submission of a current transcript of records with all achievements (including those that have not been passed), as the sum of the LP/ECTS is documented on the transcript of records and the individual achievements are shown with the examination date.

If the performance requirement is not met - or in certain exceptional cases - the form for § 48 BAFöG must be submitted to the responsible office of the KIT faculty for processing. This procedure is clarified in advance with the responsible person at the Bafög office in the Studierendenwerk KA. At the Faculty of Economics, the form is submitted to the examination office in such a case. It is best to send it (pre-filled with personal data) as a PDF printout attached to an email/KIT account and together with a current grade transcript (with all entries) to . It is important to explicitly state for which semester the performance certificate is to be issued.
