Why choose a double degree?

The program offers the possibility for French and German industrial engineering students to graduate from two prestigious universities in France and Germany and learn much more during the journey.

Language and culture: Living and studying in another country allows you to learn about the language and about the culture in a way that would hardly be possible in a purely academic way.

Teaching: Both the KIT and Grenoble INP-GI, UGA are universities of excellence and offer excellent teaching. In France, you can benefit from teaching in small groups and doing many group projects, while in Germany you will have a broader choice of lectures and will work with autonomy.

Career opportunities: The business world is becoming more international than ever and employers look increasingly for candidates that have overseas experience. With a double degree and an experience abroad, you will certainly have more job opportunities in international companies, especially in Germany and France.

Q&A
Q: Can I apply for the Erasmus+ Program and for the Double Degree program at the same time?
A: Yes, the applications are independent of each other and therefore, the Erasmus application won’t have any influence on your Double Degree program application.
Q: What happens if I fail an exam?
A: Failed examinations may be repeated following the examination regulations in force at the respective university.
Q: What happens if I don’t complete my studies within the stipulated deadline? Can I extend the duration of the program?
A: If you do not complete the program within the deadlines stipulated in the study and examination regulations, the program coordinators of both partner universities, in consultation with the relevant commissions, will decide, if you are granted an extension of one semester or excluded from the double degree program. In the last case, the examination achievements at the partner university can be recognized at the home university following the regulations of the respective study and examination regulations. You can then continue your studies at your home university.
