Learning Agreement
Before the application for your studies at KIT as an exchange student, you should prepare a Learning Agreement. The Learning Agreement is an official document listing the courses you are planning to take during your stay at KIT, approved by your home university and signed by yourself. Please upload your Learning Agreement with the other application documents on Mobility Online Portal. After your application documents are complete, we will check and prove your Learning Agreement. We will then contact you via Mobility Online Portal with feedback on your course choices. If no changes need to be made, we will approve your learning agreement through the EWP (Erasmus without Paper) system.
The exchange students have to take at least 15 ECTS of courses. While exchange students have to take at least 70% of their courses from our module handbook up to 30% of their courses may also be chosen from other KIT departments. However, KIT Department of Economics and Management cannot account for any participation limitations or policies of courses that are offered by other KIT-departments. Exchange students can attend both Bachelor’s and Master’s courses but you have to check with your home university if the recognition is possible.
Language courses from KIT Sprachenzentrum and courses offered by the KIT House of Competence (HoC) and the KIT FORUM can be selected without consideration of the 70 / 30 % rule. In order to set up your semester schedule, you can access the KIT academic calendar.
Please pay attention to the following points while filling your learning agreement:
- Recurrence: If you are coming in winter term, you can´t choose courses which are only offered in summer term.
- Language: If you can´t provide the German language proficiency at B1 level, you can´t visit courses taught in German. In this case, please choose courses offered in English.
- Brick Number: Please fill the brick number which begins with T-WiWi in your learning agreement. E.g. the brick number of the lecture “Entrepreneurship” is T-WiWi-102864.
- ECTS points: please fill in the correct ECTS points in your learning agreement.
After your arrival in Karlsruhe and once lectures at KIT have begun, you will have the opportunity to modify your Learning Agreement.
If your home university already uses the EWP (Erasmus Without Paper) system, please make the necessary changes directly in your university’s EWP platform and request that your home university send the updated Learning Agreement to KIT through the system.
Please note that we do not accept Learning Agreements in PDF format if your home university is part of the EWP system.
