Professional internship, recognition of alternative forms of employment (only applies to the Diploma programs WiIng and TVWL)
In principle, internships must be completed in full-time employment (at least 35 hours/week) without exception. Under certain conditions, the guidelines for professional internships also allow activities from a temporary job or part-time work to be credited towards the compulsory internship. For this purpose, the company must submit a certificate to the examination secretariat, as is usual for professional internships.
The certificate must explicitly state whether the work performed was full-time or part-time. In the case of part-time work, reference must be made to the average number of hours worked per week.
In principle, up to 1/3 of the compulsory technical and commercial internship time can be covered by temporary jobs. Depending on the quality of the work, the credited working time can be reduced to 1/3 of the actual time.
