Note
The course will be a mix of lectures, discussions, and student presentations. Students will write a paper in small groups, and present this in the final week. You are to a large extent free to select your own topic. The seminar course is concentrated in four meetings that are spread throughout the semester.
Learning objectives:
- Students are largely independently able to identify a distinct topic in Management Accounting,
- Students are capable to research the topic, analyze the information, to conceptualize and deduct fundamental principles and relationships from relatively unstructured information,
- Students can afterwards logically and systematically present the results in writing and as an oral presentation, following a scientific approach (structuring, terminology, sources.
Workload:
- The total workload for this course is approximately 90 hours. For further information see German version.
Examination:
- The performance review is carried out in the form of a “Prüfungsleistung anderer Art” (following § 4 (2) No. 3 of the examination regulation), which in this case is an essay the seminar participants prepare in group work.
- The final grade of the course is the grade awarded to the paper.
Note:
- Maximum of 16 students.
